> If the rot is more extensive, how do I remove the raised floor? I've pulled the carpet back, but there are tack strips and carpet padding all over it, making it difficult to see if there are any screws underneath.
Last week I pulled out the raised floor of our '75 eleganza because we kept tripping over it.
The ramp portion was a solid wooden wedge. The flat part was 3/4" plywood with wood strips
underneath. All were held down by some big screws -- too many, I thought.
The floor under our water tank is also rotted, but that can wait for another day.
I just laid the carpet back down over where the ramp was and it is much improved, imho.
For the '73's cockpit floor rot, I used wood stabilizer liquid and wood epoxy filler. Both available
at Lowes/Home Depot, etc, usually located with the wood stains. Seems to be holding up well and
is quite tough.
