S Kitchens was talking to me about his '76 Coach ~
It seems that he is having problems getting it stopped~
A ~ No Loss Of Brake Fluid ~
B ~ Good Brake Pedal
D ~ All Wheels have good Pads and Shoes,
But
Stopping Takes About he Length Of A Football Field ~
Also
About Every 200 Miles He Has To Add About 2 Quarts Of Oil ~
Otherwise It Runs Like A Champ ~

he could have a plugged rubber hose at one or more wheels that is preventing fluid reaching the cylinder. this would fit the symptoms. might try raising each wheel and turn it while applying the brakes to see where the problem is.

James Hupy wrote on Fri, 17 September 2010 23:03 | This problem sounds kinda like a failed vacuum booster or low vacuum from
the engine. Could also be internal collapse of the flexible brake hoses,
and/or poor adjustment on the rear brakes.

The vac booster is easy to check. With engine running try brakes. With engine off pump the brakes. If the brake pedal gets harder after several applications of the brake the booster is working. If the pedal pressure is always the same the booster has failed and needs to be replaced.
