Re: [GMCnet] OIL FILTERS
…Bob, No worries, Mate, you're basically saying what I noted and even if you disagreed I'm a big boy and can take it! ;-) The main reason I change the oil and filter yearly is to get rid of contamination in the oil that would not be good to leave in the …

Re: [GMCnet] New owner, new build, short timeframe
…my opinion - there is a HUGE difference between: - developing the first EFI and - installing/selling it on a few cars (as several US manu's did) and - putting it into true "production" (as VW did!). I had a 76 Cadillac Seville that might…

Re: [GMCnet] New owner, new build, short timeframe
…Oops........ Forgot to mention that when Bosch needed to meet emissions and transistor had replaced the vacuum tubes, they bought the rights from Bendix and developed the dependable injection. Funny, then GM used Bosch and Bendix to develop the 1975 …

Re: [GMCnet] New owner, new build, short timeframe
…rob, Bendix developed the first EFI in the early '50s. It was going to be installed on the 1957 Rambler Rebel. They couldn't get all the problems solved, so none were ever sold to the public. I did see one on a '57 Rebel that an American Motors …

Interested in finding a Coach
…forum, My family of 5 is looking for a GMC to travel around in. I have a fair amount of experience with cars (owned over 20 of them in 20 years). And with 1970's campers. Here's a picture of our last camper, a 1972 VW Contempo conversion. We made it …

Re: [GMCnet] New owner, new build, short timeframe
…Gary, You burst my bubble! I restored my Dad's 1968 Type III Squareback VW Station Wagon and brought to Australia. I thought it was the first EFI vehicle built and have been telling people that. From what you noted below obviously I was incorrect! AW S#!…

Re: [GMCnet] New owner, new build, short timeframe
…Rob, Don't forget the Jetfire Olds. For EFI, you can't disallow the 58 Chrysler and DeSoto. There is one restored and still running. The electronics of the time were not very good. The only way to make spark plugs live in my '63 Corvair Spyder was …

Re: New owner, new build, short timeframe
Don't like dumping poop, my wife's job I think. Most of the time it will be at the acreage, easy to get rid of the grey, valve can stay open with hose hooked up. But I hear what your saying. At least I have 2 tanks now.

Re: thoughts about a leaking coach
…wanted to second how great the "Capt. Tolley's Creeping Crack Cure" is. When I painted my coach, I remove several layers of RTV applied by a PO, liberally around everything on the roof. What a pain to get rid of all that, but paint won't stick…

[GMCnet] Question on oil consumption on e Clasco
…gene, That was a very helpful thread. Two things stood out re the Clasco. First was Ken B's comment about his airplane engine that seemed to run hot and had glazed cylinders when he tore it down. The Clasco seemed to run a bit hot as we came across …

Re: [GMCnet] Question on oil consumption on the Clasco
…Jerry, Check this thread on Oil Consumption from early March 2011. I had the same symptoms with my Bob Lamey built 455 with about 60000 miles on it. I asked the net for help and got many suggestions and a lot of good information but no definitive …

Re: air pressure for Quadra Bag Rear Suspension System

Re: What size tires/wheels you guys running on??
…Yup. This is all research on building the ultimate 1/25 scale model kit of the GMC Motorhome. And then the EM-50 from Stripes (1981). But, I also love this vehicle. And I do hope to one day own one. But... 1/25 is more likely. Oh well. http://gmc.…

Re: [GMCnet] Installing a current transformer in a 30/50 amp system

Re: [GMCnet] I know you ex-patriots miss this

Re: [GMCnet] I know you ex-patriots miss this
