Ever since, he has been lusting after a Travco that he can put Dodge 4WD running gear into, including a Cummins Turbo-Diesel! He says he will be able to pull my GMC out of the dirt at the sand dunes. Tell him to make some measurements before he decides to buy anything.
The Travco engine box was designed for a 360 with a torqueflite. When they went to the big block (first 413 then 440) it was a shoehorn job (maybe like some people shoving Cad 500s in GMC?)
A Cummins 5.9 is a LONG motor and quite tall. We had some serious packaging issues when that came along.
