How's the elevator coming along has been a question at GMCMI rallies for sometime. That is over. 11 years ago she had a knee replaced. Got an infection, and ended up losing her leg. So that meant the she couldn't go upstairs anymore. 10 years ago we looked into getting an elevator installed. Were told that it would be extremely difficult to do for our house. I served in the USMC. So to me. It's just going to take some extra effort. So I made up some detailed drawings, and started tarring apart a portion of the house. As there are 3 levels for the elevator to stop at. Then we decided that the 78 Royale needed a wider door, and other modification made to get us back on the road. Be simpler to do these mods on the GMC at home instead of at the warehouse. So I set out to build a 1200 sq ft shop at home that had 13 ft ceilings, central heat/AC, hoist, floor drain, Hot/ Cold water, and a crystal chandelier. Had to add that for fun. RIGHT? Built it by myself. Like everything else I seem to do. Then I modified the GMC. Elevator got pushed back each time. With us back on the road with the GMC. Linda decided that it would be nice if the patio was enclosed. Another Bob Job to do. Next back to the elevator finely. Then the modified GMC burned. Elevator takes another vacation so I can find another 78 Royale. More detailed drawings. Then 9 months dedicated to totally dismantling, building, and modifying this 78 Royale. Done, and back on the road. Next I had a Muslim destroy the inside of one of our rental warehouse units. .Another Bob job. Finely back to the elevator. Now DONE. Well, except for a few details. BUT she can go upstairs. And that was all she really wanted. Now I can go out to play with the GMC. Love that thing. Next off to Tucson. I'm one happy guy. And she got 12 red roses at the end of her ride upstairs in her new elevator. Bob Dunahugh
