Linda, and I loved our first 78 Royale that we owned for 13 years. Then the fire from a fire recall we never saw. Suddenly it felt like we had just lost a close family member. 3 weeks after the fire. We went to a GMCMI rally in South Dakota without a GMC. The warmth, and support from the GMC committee was unbelievable. Then the reality that our GMC was gone. I became a man on a mission. In Nov, I told Linda to make out a list of absolutely EVERYTHING that she had ever dreamt of having in a GMC. That Nov I bought another 78 Royale. By the fallowing June. That GMC went to a GMCMI rally in Branson Mo. After totally rebuilding about every part. Our perspective changed on how we looked at this second 78 Royale. I'm 71. How much sand is in my hour glass anymore. ( I did put courser sand in it recently ) So how much time do we have to enjoy each other in what I call our GMC magic carpet. Put a huge amount of labor in it. And about $41,000 in parts. Linda declared it perfect at the Ohio GMCMI rally. As to the labor, and parts cost. Now the cost of travel. I DO NOT CARE. As how much time do we have with each other anymore. Just something for all to think about. Bob Dunahugh 78 GMC The Mouse House GMC
