Years ago there seemed to be a lot of concern about rebuilding an engine
and having it ruin itself because of ballooning torque converters or
something like that...

Which was getting destroyed and why? And what steps should be taken to
prevent problems?

I'll be building a spare engine this summer and would like to do it only
once. My current engine is approaching 300,000 with one known backyard
rebuild...thus it is obviously getting tired.

Thanks

Mike in NM
