I recently gave my 30 foot travel trailer to my son who lives north of Albuquerque in the Placitas area. Harbor Freight's current sale flyer lists rope lights for $9.99 per string and I wonder about the amount and manner in which these should be deployed to keep the critters out. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The rope lights you refer to at Harbor Freight are solar lights. They do
not get charged enough to stay on all night. They are not very long so
you would need several sets. For just a little more you can get the 120V
strings 18' long. Not at Harbor Freight.  You would need at least 3 of
these. I use them while camping all the time.  They keep racoons and
possums a way too.
