Everyone's fun subject - Fire!
Returning from a small trip today, we saw a UPS truck that had it's driver side inner tire just merrily blazing away. Looked like the rear brake locked up to the drum and the massive heat eventually set the inner tire on fire.
We stopped, all my vehicles have fire extinguishers inside. GMC had five. One attempted helper had completely exhausted his typical A-B-C fire extinguisher without affecting the fire and it's progress.
I pulled out my Kiddie B-C fire extinguisher and it extinguished the fire very quickly. I was amazed.
Saved someone's Christmas.
Lesson is have the correct type of extinguisher for the fire you plan on fighting. The B-C type actually lowers the fire temp which helps to put it out. Marine fire extinguishers are very good for vehicle fires.
Tom, time to buy another B-C type
