Sorry about mentioning "disabled for a while", especially prematurely.
Until yesterday morning I was scheduled to be in surgery RIGHT NOW.
Nothing really serious, but disabling fully for a short while and partially
for a long time: Just surgery on my right thumb for osteoarthritis. I've
been having trouble, and 3 months between steroid shots for over a year.
Condition and schedule finally persuaded me to schedule it for 0530 this
morning.

Then, on Tuesday, I had an appointment with the replacement for my retired
cardiologist. Since I'm old and haven't had one once since before a stent
was installed 8 years ago, he suggested I might ought to have a cardio
stress test. Even though the EKG and sonogram looked good, I said "OK".
Only later did I realize that I should have said, "I'll call you Friday to
schedule it". Why, 'cause the osteo surgeon got wind of it and won't do
the hand surgery until he sees the results. :-(

I've moved the stress test forward to next Tuesday and the thumb work to
next Thursday. I'm confident the results will be good. Thus, my
announcement here was premature.

The bad part about the "disabled" is that they say I won't have any use of
my right hand for at least a couple of weeks, minimum use for a couple of
months, and not full recovery for 6-12 months. :-( Sounds like SHE'll
even have to zip my pants for me! And without my "mini-vice-grip", I'll
probably go stir crazy -- heck, that left hand doesn't even do a good job
of scratching my butt!

Didn't mean to make this an "old folks' usual conversation", but it is what
it is.

The GMC's chassis battery is weak and the 2 golf cart house batteries are
5+ years old. They're all likely to REQUIRE replacement before I'm fully
recovered, so I'm going to take care of that today, while I still can.
Because of their location on the Ragusa right front tray, and my other
mods, I have to use a special jig to remove them through the wheel well.
:-(

Ken H.
