Hot water tankless heaters are instant start and dont care if they are fed
from a tank or a hose. Perfect even for dry campers. Smile
We only use our tankless water heater when dry camping. Otherwise we use the OEM electric/engine preheat water heater since we have both.

We always take navy showers, regardless of the source of hot water because of limited black water storage. We rarely if ever camp in places with sewer hookups.

Adding a tankless water heater is still one of the best comfort upgrades for us.

We have one at home as well. There we can take unlimited length showers if we want.
