I installed a tankless waterheater behind the fridge almost exactly as Ray had done. I have to admit, I am not as happy as Ray with my installation, but that might be of my own doing. I think I have a ridgeland 8L 2 GPM tankless heater. My issue I think might be because that unit is too large. Everyone else tends to install a 6L, that is 1.6 GPM
I do not like that it takes too much flow to get it fired off and to get hot water going. I can't just do a small trickle, I have to open up the sink a bit. The other problem is when taking showers, I always am shutting on/off the water to try and conserve water. Then the heater also I shuts on and off, and I get a burst of freezing water when I turn the water back on for a second.
I intend to probably try a smaller tankless, and/or go back to a water heater tank. for now I have lived with it for two summers.
