Hello fellow GMCers,
>
> I planned on introducing myself and my wife, Katherine, on better terms, but unfortunately I’m asking for advice following a breakdown in our recently acquired ‘76 Royale. To make a long story short, we’re in Watkinsville, GA headed black to Ocala, FL and I noticed a slight listing on the right rear suspension during a stop. I pulled the skirt and saw that the inner bottom weld of the support bracket has separated from the bogie and the inner bracket beneath the pin and the entire bracket has rotated about 30 degree outboard - bending, but not breaking the outer weld beneath the rotating pin, if that makes sense.
>
> Bottom line, we’re fortunate that we’re only 40 miles from the GMC specialists at Southland Motorhome and RV in Buford, GA. Thank goodness we have FMCA tow insurance and only have to pay $250 rather than $1000 for a Landoll since it’s not drivable. The tow truck is enroute and I’ll speak with the techs again in the morning. Looks to me like rust along the seam may have weakened the weld?
>
> Anyone out there had any similar experience? Just wondering how “bad” it will be. On the bright side, we put over 3000 miles on it driving from FL up the East coast and we almost mad it back to Ocala! Lol!
> Resending this after realizing the message size limit. Hopefully my terminology is good enough to visualize without the photo I tried to attach.
