OK, I found a NOS carburetor on eBay for $50. I installed it today, hit the start switch and the gen cranked but did not start.
Did a quick check and did not have a spark, it was my 41 year old coil. Luckily I had ordered one from Jim K last month for a spare
and installed it. This time the engine fired right up with my new carb not even needing adjustment. Sometimes things just work
out.
Rob, I really do appreciate your offer, but I don't need one now, so you get to keep your spare. The next time you get back over
to East Tennessee give me a call and I'll gladly give you a hand with whatever you're working on.
