I drove a GMC coach from NC to Idaho in June; was on Interstate 70 thru
Missouri and then into Kansas. Took the portion of Interstate 70 into
Kansas that was a toll road. When approaching the toll booths, there were
about 5 lanes and all had back upped traffic of 5 or 6 cars/trucks.
Having not been thru them, I picked one and waited in line like everyone
else. When I get to the toll booth, they only had a ticket machine there
and I pressed the button, but couldn't reach thru the coach's toll window
to take the ticket. Since traffic was backed up behind me, I didn't have
the time to get out of the drivers seat and go around the coach to get the
ticket; I just drove on. When I came to the end of the toll road, I told
the toll booth attendant what happened and I was charged the max since I
had entered the toll road at the farthest end and I paid the toll. Weeks
later, the seller of the coach got a ticket from Kansas for their toll, so
long story short, Kansas gets their tag recognition ticket out in about 5
weeks. Had I known she received the ticket and paid it, I would have told
her to let me handle it since I would have written to Kansas that I paid
there toll and they could stick it where the sun doesn't shine.
