Since each bogie arm has a pivot point wouldn't that meet the SAE definition?

A minor POff here and a reason we avoid the Mackinaw Bridge.
We get billed the same toll as a 46,000# Greyhound bus. When I wrote to the bridge authority, their reply was that it was a weight
based toll. (My Ass)

It seems that toll people can not be expected to have any common sense let alone understand SAE standards that say that an axle
count is determined by the active suspension points on the frame or chassis os the vehicle in road transit state. So, they think it
is three axles, don't try to influence them with facts, they have made up their minds.

I am just glad that they don't try to count wheel spindles, then we would pay for six.

The Ambassador Bridge to Canada charges us the same rate as a passenger car.

Some places now do actually charge a weight based toll, but this is Michigan, you can't expect us to be up to date out here in the
west.
