I lucked out in Odessa {North Tampa area] with very minor damage and only lost power for about 20 min.
Yard flooded about 4-6 inches but receded
GMC is unscathed
Bugging out wasnt an option.I have to work at the hospital.
Beyond that, some brake issues would keep me from taking the GMC
It could be used for post storm shelter if needed
Conventional wisdom here is to run from water, shelter from wind
The evacuation was a real mess. I went out to top off my tank at 3 AM sunday AM- every station was out of fuel. Many people stranded or stuck on the roads.
Im a 5th generation FL native- this is the first storm that really worried me. The metal rood ans storm shutters payed off.
