Isn't the function of the little TVS (Thermal Vacuum Switch) to increase idle RPM when engine heats up? Sounds to me as if GM designers once again had their heads on straight!

At 360 RPM no need for a tach. You can just count the balancer rotations for 10 secs and multply by 6. I don't think it will like the 1 scenario where
you pull off an exit ramp and catch a stoplight.
