I apologize for leaving you all in the dark about how things turned out. It has been nagging me that I need to close the loop after so many of you sent kind messages of support.

When we bought our 23, we insured it for the replacement value at that time to get a lower premium. Since then, we poured many hours and dollars into it without reviewing our policy. As it turned out, the uninsured motorist insurance limit was higher, than our stated value, so Progressive paid the uninsured motorist limit, 10,000. Progressive appraised the coach at 18,000 from pictures, documentation of upgrades, and market research that I provided, I think this was pretty darn accurate. Progressive also let me keep the 23 with no buy back BS. I am still considering rebuilding the rear of it, and have a parts coach located.

To add insult to injury (literally) the accused drunk, uninsured, reckless driving motorist who hit us has opted for a court trial. I have received a subpoena to testify for the prosecution.... right in the middle of the GMCMI Tucson rally that we were going to attend with coach. We are now scheduled to fly in for the opening half of the rally.

Now the fun part. With the settlement, some savings, and much help from other GMC'ers we have located and purchased a 1976 Edgemonte with rear twin beds, the world's smallest shower, Alcoa hot shot wheels, tankless water heater, Doug Thorley headers, Stainless exhaust, 1 ton front end, rear disk brakes, Sully air bags, and rebuilt engine and transmission of unknown origin. It needs some paint touch-up and interior work, but it is 100% usable. The coach is still in the San Jose area and we just completed the second work weekend trip yesterday. We will bring it up to the Northwest this spring.

Thanks to all in the forum who offered parts, coaches, tips on dealing with insurance, and stories of previous insurance claims, I learned from all of them.
A HUGE thanks to friends/family who assisted in the new coach evaluation and purchase.
