Most high line cars are on an “extended” oil service schedule. For several years 15,000 mile filters have been used. Think of this fact (for us old school mechanics) The average new car will just have received its third oil change when its warranty expires. It’s a new world, and I’m not saying this is bad, its progress. Who wants to buy a used car?

Today I saw that STP has 3 oil filter that are rated for 5,000 miles, then 10,000, and next a 15,000 miles filter. I wouldn't use those on a Junker car. Bob Dunahugh
