There was a 140 or 150 amp option offered on transmodes. I looked it up one time for a 1978 GMC. It was used on people movers etc. with high electrical demands and low speed local driving. Roger Black had one on his coach. I do not remember if it was a one wire or remote sense alternator.

You might dig through the GMC parts books looking for it. If I remember correctly it was a double belt driven alternator. I do not remember much more as that was 12 or 14 years ago that I saw it.
