G'day,
If you click on Cary's link a McMaster catalog page opens and there is a box titled "Strips, Sheets, and Bars."
Click on that box and another page opens with a box at the bottom in the center titled "Super-Conductive 101 Copper Sheets and Bars."
Click on that box and you find heaps of choices!

Sometimes “copper” electrical contacts are in reality a copper alloy chosen for particular beneficial haracteristics. That copper disc in the solenoid may or may not be pure copper. Maybe someone on the ‘net has an XRF gun and would shoot a couple samples to see.
