Wow have been through there several times crazy that it was caught on video. I wonder if it was brake failure or just distracted. I have had brake failure on the freeway in bumper to bumper traffic in Los Angeles and let me tell you it was super hairy. Old metering valve decided to not work front brakes any longer unbeknownst to me and in a panic stop blew two holes out of the main rear brake line. Total loss of brakes probably scariest thing I have been through. Somehow dodged the 3 miles of brake lights in front of me and made it over 3 lanes to the shoulder somehow no one was in the right lanes. Parking brake didn't stop her and I was running out of road. Had to throw it into park ! After that it was no piece mealing brake lines it was everything new front to back and everything in between. My advise your brake system is only as strong as your weakest link and that is no way to feel good with that in the back of your mind. Thank God no one was injured . But a big lesson learned.
