My Generac is like most inverter generators--it maintains engine speed at
minimum value to generate the required power. I suspect 3600 is the top
end, only when being asked to generate all 3600 watts. I hear that only
when running the AC and water heater at the same time (3300 watts for those
two plus whatever the converter is drawing)--something I only do for deep
exercise. With just the AC, it's noticeably less. Mine makes significantly
less noise outside the coach than Ken's Troy-Bilt, but it's right under the
bed and one does both hear and feel it. It's really no noisier than the
Onan, and certainly doesn't vibrate more.

Despite that Ken believes he led me down the garden path with that Generac,
and despite that I did have to replace the shaft speed sensor at only 70
hours, I'm happy with it, considering the alternatives. An automatic
transfer switch that delays switching until the generator stabilizes (about
30 seconds) was very good for the Generac.

One used to have to pay a quarter to get a vibrating bed.
