Thanks Emery.

I'm a little confused. I've seen other posts stating some have been turned away by propane fillers for having old tanks.
The expertise of the people that do this is never guaranteed. I always stand by and watch as I have also had the tank over filled more than once.

Curious if there is a specific tag or label I should point out on the GMC tank that would convince a filler of the ASME certification.
There is a stamped plate welded to the tank. Gently wire brush this and then give it a light coat of paint. The information is never stamped in all that deeply and it is easy to loose after forty years. Point that out that plate and say to the person that refuses to fill it that this what what says that the tanks original certification is still valid. ASTM code certification is much more severe than DOT.

Thanks again for the tip!

P.S. I found the fitting I needed was a QCC1 x 1/4 MNPT adapter. This is a standard Quick Connect male to 1/4" male fitting that will allow me to connect my camp stove and pizza oven to the tank outside the RV.

Any time J, we are here to help and enjoy doing so.

Matt
