Saw on the main list that a longtime user (but not NJ resident) mentioned that older vehicles (which would include the GMC) will no longer need to be inspected in NJ.

I neither live in nor have plans to travel through NJ. But I do often listen to a certain mechanic (Ron Ananian) who has weekly radio show. I have heard him speculate that the real motive is that it will now be easier for the state patrol to set up roadside "safety checks", and he overall thought this would end up costing drivers more in the long run.

Just curious what others think?
