The OEM wheels for the GMC were 16.5 inch and the early wheels were for bias ply tires and then the radial wheels began with chassis TZE165V101674. You should never run the radial tires on a bias only rim as the rim will fail. The radial rims are marked with the word RADIAL stamped on the rims. 16.5 in tires are getting very difficult to find and buy. Most have gone with the 16 inch aluminum rims and some have found a 16” steel rim that is acceptable.

Any tires that are more than 5 or 6 years old and have cracks I would be looking at new tires. You should ask yourself how much more does it cost to fix body damage over a new set of tires.
