Harry,
Do you need the wire running down the column or the wire from the button itself? The one from the button usually terminates on the rotating contact with a bayonet type of plug, which is like a turn signal or backup light bulb (1157 or 1156). Usually white plastic, push in slightly and turn CCW to disengage the lugs. The other end may be hardwired to the horn switch or have a spade connector on it.
