It seems you got several answers. Here is the correct one: Buy the right pump and hard line from a GMC vendor.

The fuel schematic is in the manual. Download it from http://www.bdub.net/factory-manuals.html

Don't try to run it on the gas in the tanks. Run it off fresh gas from an outboard motor tank until you get the tanks cleaned out.
