Rob,
Check your charger for it's capabilities before you spend $$$ on NiMh batteries. NiCads are pretty easy to charge circuitry wise. NiMh batteries require some smarts in the charger or you will damage the cells. LiIon require even more smarts from the charger to safely charge it.

I believe NiCads should be stored with only a partial charge, NOT fully charged. NiCads are going the way of the tungsten lamp, so get them rebuilt soon.
