Dave - You would probably be time and money ahead looking at a replacement (Honda EV6010 or a newer Onan) than trying to replace the original. Parts are getting hard to find (and expensive) and you better be ready and equipped to work on the 500 lb beast yourself as you may be hard pressed finding someone to work on it for you.
Going with a new unit will give easier starting, maintenance, probably quieter, much easier to get parts for, and will probably add value to your coach.
I went the other way. I have 4 Onan 6K's I use to keep 1 in running condition.
