Robin,

MM X-7725 77-78 Maintenance Manual Supplement contains detailed information and line drawings showing how to R&R all the belts in
Section 6K ENGINE COOLING.

Note: additional information can be found in MM X-7725 on page 6K-9 through 6K-11.

You don't really know the condition of this coach very well as you only moved it a couple of miles IIRC. You are now going to move
it around 30 miles. You don't know why the alternator belt is missing. You don't know how old the other two belts are. You don't
know how much power your GMC will draw from the battery while under way (should be nominal but you don't KNOW that). Assuming you
will start out early in the morning you don't know what could happen to delay your drive into night. You're going to be nervous as
hell moving this coach and if I were you I would do everything and anything to reduce the number of problems that might occur.

You noted "I may err on the side of caution." I'd call it common sense to change them. Just like I suggested you R&R the front brake
lines. Come to think of it you should inspect the upper and lower radiator hoses to make sure they're good enough to make the trip.
Also loop the hoses that feed the house water heater to take them out of the system also. f

Or you could follow the Aussie saying; "she'll be right Mate, NO worries" and go for it. ;-)

Rob M.

I may err on the side of caution. How hard can it be to put on a belt? :)

Robin
