Many have not changed over to TBI for a variety of reasons.
The cost is one.
Also, many do not put many miles on their GMCs each year so it is hard for them to justify the cost.
It really isn't that hard to install.

I have had TBI since 1993. My first was a Holley Projection which had a manual tuning setup. Then I changed to the Howell system many years ago and then added the EBL system

I drive the GMC a lot and it has proven its need to me many times over.

Starts instantly, shuts off without diseling, runs better and I can tune it easily. I go from high mountains to sea level at least once or twice a year and if I had the carb it would need rejetting frequently or it would just run rough and with reduced power at one place or the other.
