Johnny,

No doubt you will be able to improve your braking considerably by getting the original system up to snuff. In a panic stop, you WILL lock up the rear wheels and therefore lose the effectiveness of that pair of wheels. You MIGHT be able to lock up the front and/or the mid wheel brakes, but I doubt it. I never tried. The second paragraph in the caption for the following picture, was the reason I decided to put the money into this system:

My brakes were not in bad shape but needed to be refurbished. They were very close to working at 100% and I could have restored them to original performance, but I was never comfortable with that. I made the financially painful decision to take the $$ I would have spent and add $$$$ to exponentially improve the brakes instead. I know that is just not an option for lots of people, but it was important enough to me to make the sacrifice and just do it. This brake system is nothing short of incredible.
