Jack, ...do you have the means to take digital pictures of the belts on your coach at this time?  This could help you remember how the old belts came off. Logic would dictate that the belt closest to the block would be the first you would replace, the next one out the second and so forth.

Logic should also dictate that the pulley on the motor that lines up with your power steering, A/C and what ever should be where you place the belt on the motor. Most of the belt congregate at the lower front of the motor around something called a 'harmonic dampener'.

Most everyone on this forum is far more knowledgeable than I regarding these things.  I just wanted you to know I was watching the thread as I need to do the same thing to my coach for my own peace of mind.  We can learn together.

I won't be able to return to my computer, for any length of time, until tomorrow afternoon. Will check in then, and then for only a short time to see what has developed.

These things always seem too large up front, ...but after you've done them a time or two makes you laugh at how hard we think it is to do. I'm trying to find courage, in this thought, so I can look forward to the experience.

Folks

This is a continuation of my request as to how to replace the belts on my 76 Eleganze ll with a 455 engine.

I have not quite gotten the answers I would like to make me comfortable. I have decided to try to them change myself and have received three belts from Applied GMC. This is progress as now I know that there are 3 belts. These are labeled ALT, A/C and P/S. I am sure that I can find these items, but what I don't know is where the belts attach to the engine and in which order.

Anybody have a picture or description? Do I work from the top or from under the coach?
Do I need to remove the fan shroud?

Thanks in advance
