Subject: [GMCnet] Fan belts replacement, still

Folks

This is a continuation of my request as to how to replace the belts on my 76
Eleganze ll with a 455 engine.

I have not quite gotten the answers I would like to make me comfortable. I
have decided to try to them change myself and have received three belts from
Applied GMC. This is progress as now I know that there are 3 belts. These
are labeled ALT, A/C and P/S.

I am sure that I can find these items, but what I don't know is where the
belts attach to the engine and in which order.

BELT REMOVAL SEQUENCE:

1) REMOVE THE AIR CONDITIONING BELT
2) REMOVE THE POWER STEERING BELT
3) REMOVE THE ALTERNATOR BELT

Anybody have a picture or description?

REFERENCE MAINTENANCE MANUAL X-7525 PAGE 6K-9 BELT TENSION. SEE FIGURE 10 -
FAN AND DRIVE BELTS FOR A SKETCH.

Do I work from the top or from under the coach?

I'VE REPLACED MINE WORKING FROM UNDER THE COACH.

Do I need to remove the fan shroud?

I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO REPLACE THEM WITHOUT REMOVING THE FAN SHROUD ON MY 1975
AVION. I HAD TO ROTATE THE FAN FEED THE BELT OVER ONE BLADE AT A TIME TO GET
THEM IN AND OUT.

Thanks in advance
