After a trans rebuild at shop far away, had lots of fluid spilling out the vent on top of the trans. I have conflicting information about checking the proper level by taking off the modulator on the side of the trans. I drove the coach and got it warmed up. Right away removed the modulator and about two quarts of fluid came out. Some say that would indicate too much fluid was in there and now it is at the proper level. Others say that I am draining the extra fluid from the torque converter. With the two quarts removed it still shifts fine and does not slip. I think I took too much out. What gives?
