Usually, winter here equates to a couple of cold nights - high 20s. However, the weather nerd is calling for low teens Saturday night here in the hills, so simply draining the water tank and black tank mightn't be enough to preclude damage. So, on with the air fitting and blow out all the lines. A good shot of alcohol down each drain trap. Then I got to thinking - the 23' has merely had what was in it put back when the new radiator went in, and the 26' got well water when the hose came off going to Orlando. They've both got something green in there, but who knows... So I picked up a $2 hygrometer from Advance. The one with an eyedropper containing five plastic balls of increasing density. Tested on the Mousetoad and Paula's van, everything floats. On the 26', all five sank. On the 23', one sort of maybe floated. On the ratrod pickup, one float, one sort of. Wonder of wonders, Advance has Prestone concentrate on sale, plus military discount and I got five gallons. Each coach got two gallons drained and two gallons of Prestone added, the fifth one went into the ratrod. All three cranked and run for twenty - thirty minutes to get the heat up in the engine and mix everything in the cooling system. I expect a light dusting of snow, the weather folks are calling for doom and destruction. We'll see.
