We do a lot of boon-dock camping. But carrying two 6 gallon jugs of
water from the pump to the GMC and then holding each one up high to
empty it into the coaches water tank gets tiring. So, I decided to
design and build a WATER WAGON.
I started by building a wood box that holds an 18 gallon tank. I
purchased an old radio flyer wagon and took the chassis off of it and
mounted it onto the bottom of the wood box. I trashed the old wagon
wheels and installed some hand golf cart wheels from carts I had
purchased at Goodwill for $5 each. Under the wagon I installed a high
capacity Sur-Flo 12v DC Pump with a hose going from the inlet side of
the pump to the tank and a 6' hose on the outlet side. On the GMC's
small side access door I put in a 12v DC outlet.
So I go to the campground water pump, fill the tank, pull it back to
the GMC, stick the hose in the coach water tank fill door, plug in the
pump, turn it on and I have plenty of water with minimal work.
