Today a friend of Sully's came to his shop to work on my exhaust system
which has continued to loosen up, creating leaks and low-hanging mufflers.
By adding flex couplings, more hangers, and welding some of the joints, I
think he's given me a much better system.

Since Sully and I were troubleshooting his fire-restored electrical system,
SHE periodically started the engine for leak checks. Naturally, each of
the 5 times, it started on the first turn. When I got in to do the final
acceptance check, Guess What? Lotsa spinnie, no startee!!!

Yep, the high pressure pump had failed. :-(

Fortunately, I had a spare pump (as well as 2 others clearly marked "bad"
-- don't ask me why they're aboard). Sully persuaded me to go ahead and
replace it before we went to his house for a wonderful dinner. I'd have
waited 'til tomorrow morning so I could worry about it all night and get
re-greasy tomorrow. Starts on the first turn again now. :-)

Ask me why I won't install in-tank pumps. 'Tho' I will admit that the
in-tank pumps may be better cooled and therefore last longer.
