Hi All-
Am trying to find a Thermassan Waste Destruct System for my '78 GMC Royale.
Haven't had much luck as of yet in finding a complete system. All I've been able to put together so far are a lot of bits & pieces.
Does anyone out there happen to have a complete system (or something close) just 'sitting around on the garage shelf' that they would like to get rid of?

Doesn't matter. As long as they aren't fitted to newer vehicles (say MY2000 as an example), consider them legal/grandfathered in. Mine still has the NSF sticker. If it was legal then (and btw, happened to be oem in mine), it's legal now.
As far as GMC's go, an exception MAY exist if they were installed on a MY after they were pulled, although I don't know when the last year they were available were.

Thetford never "pulled" the Thermasan system so much as they just quit marketing it during the second oil crisis (early 80's) when RV sales tanked yet again.
Two states tried to shut it down. One was Pennsylvania because there was a rule that an owner could not modify a vehicle exhaust system, so drilling a hole in the pipe would not be allowed. I think the other was California. But, I had the division president so loaded with good hard data that they could not refute, that it would have been an interesting fight. (We invented the airborne BOD test for this purpose.)
That is also about the time that the company that made the level sensor that was integrated into the pickup screen went under. I believe that the Delco wiper motor that was used as the original drive became non-production about the same time.
I was out of Thetford by then, but kept some track of the goings on just for interest sake.
