Knowing that some of you are not on Facebook, I just thought I would share this with this group. Kathy and I just completed our third Tucson to Central PA trip last Wednesday, this was an incident at one of our gas stops:

So. Here's a new one:

We stopped at a Loves on I-40 near Amarillo, about a mile west of the Cadillac Ranch for gas the other day. A GMC admirer approached and told me he liked the motorhome, said he always wanted one etc, etc.

He then asked if I knew why GM developed them in the first place. I thought I did, but he told me, very sincerely as if he knew what he was talking about, that they were developed "for the Moon". He elaborated that they were developed, under a government contract, for use in exploration of the Moon.

This was news to me. I did mention that they had used some manufacturing procedures similar to what Boeing used in aircraft production. He said that was right and used that as proof of the Lunar exploration theory. He stated that the program got cancelled, so GM decided to sell some of them to the public in order to recoup some of their development costs.

First time I had heard any of that. Interesting, to say the least.

Oh, and you should hear some of the comments on FB. Rolling Eyes
