I was working on an old John Deere 425 trying to remove the 4 10mm head bolts/nuts that hold the seat pan to the front pan. This is under and in the tire kickup area. Started with Kroil and let it work. Using 6 point 1/4 drive I got 1 out, broke 1 and now was getting bashed knuckles when tools slipped off the loose bolts near the last few threads. Two would get near the end and not go. I’d screw the nut back in a few turns respray with Kroil to flush and try again. No go where nut was near end of bolt even with more Kroil. Then I screwed the nut back on a bit, put a tiny dab of Valvoline on my finger and put it on the exposed bolt threads. Nut came off like butter. Amazing. If I had more to do I would try Mobil 1 for comparison, but job done.
