For those of you who will be taking Interstate 10 from Florida to Hattiesburg. Look carefully at your GPS directions. Do not go through Mobile. Stay on I-10, through the tunnel, turn North when you get to I-65. By, then, your GPS will have recalculated and put you on hwy 98.
A bit rural, with small towns along the way. But, less than 2 hours and you are at Hattiesburg.

When you cross the Florida line, look for the exit with Buc-ee's. Cleanest restrooms on the Interstates. Good gas prices. If you elect to go to Buc-ee's, take exit, cross over the Interstate, at traffic light, turn right. Buc-ee's will be on your right. I suggest that you do not use the first entrance, rather use the second entrance. Tourists all use 1st entrance. 2nd entrance is uncrowded. 120 pumps after all.

If you have the range, gas is cheaper in Mississippi, still near or under $3.00.

Thanks for this tip Tom. We used it to travel from Pensacola to Hattiesburg with smooth sailing. Looked to me like if we had followed GPS, that 98 just after crossing the bridge and going through tunnel would have been a traffic nightmare. Kept going on Interstate 10 to Interstate 65 north and only slowed down for the tunnel. Hope many others coming from the east follow suit. BTW, 98 off of 65 is slow going for about 10 miles, then 98 becomes a 4 lane that is little traveled. Nice road.
