Is anyone out there?
I'm trying to find the colors of the wires to the remote switch and connect
them to the harness coming out of the gennie.
I have red; yellow(maybe white) ; green and blue coming from the remote
panel in the coach into the generator area.
I have red; yellow; white and black coming from the generator.
So my semi obvious wires not matching are my green and blue and my white and
black.
Any guidance here would be very appreciated.

Dean, here's Billy M's GMC web page with the various GMC wiring diagrams:

The Avion is listed and has 12v and 120v diagrams. I suspect that the Onan wiring itself will be pretty standard and the remote switch should be on the 12v diagram. Good luck!

Looks like I spoke too soon...the 2 Avion diagrams shown on bdub's page are just placeholders or damaged scans. The other wiring diagrams on that page show the file sizes and the Avion files don't. Sorry Dean.
Ken Henderson's son sells very large scale wiring diagrams for all models (far as I know). Maybe you can get a PDF wiring diagram from them via email...?

Dean,
On page 51 of the Onan Major Service manual, it shows the interconnection of the remote panel with the generator control panel. This manual is available in PDF from:

They don't show any wiring colours so you may need to use your Ohm-meter to trace the wires on both ends. On the generator control board, the pin numbers and functions are:
1 - Ground
2 - Stop
3 - Start
4 - N/C
5 - Battery Meter (if equipped)
6 - Running lamp and hour meter
So basically the remote switch grounds the wire for either Stop or Start. Pin 6 outputs 12V when the generator engine is running to power the Running lamp on the switch and the hour-meter. You likely don't have the Battery meter, so that leaves you with only 4 wires needed.
Note that on the Start/Stop switch, the contact selected is opposite to the side the button is pushed. So when Start is pushed, the middle (common ground) and bottom terminals are connected. When the bottom Stop side is pushed, its the top terminal that is grounded. So Stop wire goes to the top terminal, Start to bottom terminal and Ground is the center common terminal. Page 51 shows both a wiring diagram and a pictorial as well.

Just get a meter on continuity beep. Get a 20’ test wire and some alligator clip leads. Connect the long wire to one of the loose wires in the gen compartment and around and into the entry door to the Onan panel remote area. Connect the test wire to one meter lead. Use the other meter lead to probe and find the wire. Label and move on to the next per the legend Bruce posted. Label all the ends then when done install onto the numbered Onan flag terminals. If you are getting flakey meter readings, check/clean the Molex connector in back of gen drawer. You CAN use the body as a return path instead of the long test wire but if there are shorts to ground this will throw you off.
