One of my lunch group friends just called and said that a transmission knowledgeable person has confirmed that his transmission needs an overhaul. It won't go into drive at all now. It used to just be lame and now it is not even doing that. He is an older guy and very capable, but does not want to go into it on his own.
So,
Does someone have a recommendation short of the 120 miles to Cinnabar?
Thanks.
Matt

Ken,
If you mean a transmission guy or a possible GMC shop? I don't have a clue?

KenB,

Do you mean Paul Lambke? If so I pretty sure he no longer takes on any work and likely no closer than Cinnabar.

Borrmann's has a transmission shop do his, but from the US side, he is further away than Cinnabar.

Yes, we do have a Guy that does excellent work, TH425 transmission rebuilds. Lives NW of Minneapolis. But you would have to bring the transmission to him as he does not do remove/install. Let me know if you want more info.

Maybe my memory is faulty. I though there was someone east of Windsor on 401 and slightly south. Oh well, forget my comment.

Are you looking for someone to pull and repair the trans or to repair a trans you bring in to them without the coach?

Two people can drop a trans in a couple hours and a floor jack. My daughter and her boyfriend dropped mine in about 2.5 hours and had never seen one before.
