Has anyone removed the bedroom wall that covers the back of a '73 side-bath bathroom module. I have a new water heater from Applied and it's just enough larger than the original unit so I will have to modify the outside cover to make it fit or try the wall removal to install it. I'm looking for the least work method since we're camping and I don't have access to my shop. I have already maxed out the size of the opening in the bathroom module and don't think it will go in that way without modifying the outer case or trying the wall removal. Any experience or ideas on the wall removal?

Mine heater/tank is a replacement Atwood unit installed behind the lower right cabinet slide. (my coach is a 77 PB with bathroom module on passenger side aft of fridge) Removing the lower cabinet inner liner gives me access - is yours THAT much larger?

Same location as mine. The Camco water heater Applied sent me is 13.5 inches square and 17 inches long or so. It has very similar dimensions as the OEM one I took out but it is slightly larger and won't install through the opening in the bathroom even though I enlarged the hole in the fiberglass. I am considering butchering the outer case to round the top corners but when I saw that some suggested pulling the bedroom wall for easy access I wondered how difficult it was to pull that wall.

Although I've never done it, it looks like it would be easy enough to remove that panel, but you have to remove a bunch of other stuff first (the bed if you have a permanent bed, the gaucho, if you don't, the blanket chest, etc. Time consuming at best, I would imagine.

I took down my wall to do water heater...nothing hard, just involved, as you I had to clear everything to get to it. top rack, blanket cabinet, seats, etc.

Tilerpep was correct. Seven screws in the crack at the rear of the hallway, two more behind the water tank, another four for the blanket cupboard, and another four for the water tank frame. Not a big deal. the water heater "just" fit between the side walls and the vent line going to the roof. The lower curtain track made it difficult to lift the heater onto the outboard bracket that holds the heater so I bent the first inch down with a hammer to help guide the heater. It was extremely tight on our coach. When it was clear that the water heater was likely not going to go in from the bathroom side my wife "helpfully" suggested butter might help. When I had to use a butter knife as a shoehorn to get the blocking in which supports the inboard side, I realized she was right. Thanks to those who responded.
