Happy Monday gentlemen,
Does anyone know what material the Stor-Mor roof top cargo pod is made of? I have several cracks which need repair.
Thanks in advance.
Take care all,
Tom K.

Most rooftop boxes are made of ABS plastic.

Emery,
Thank you very much! I purchased 3M 04240, which is supposed to handle ABS and most other plastics. I also need to embed 2 bolts into the grill.
Take care and thanks again,

Tom, You might want to drill some small holes at the end of the cracks to keep it from cracking more. Then put the cement on and embed some strips of fiberglass on the inside to reinforce it. Cover the strips with more cement.
For the grill I would use JB Weld. It’ll be a lot stronger.

I had good results using the adhesive backed fiberglass tape some folks use to cover drywall seams. Stick it in place then cover over with ABS Also legos are ABS - these can be dissolved in acetone to make the ABS “paint”.

I have used marine epoxy and fiberglass tape with good results. Be sure to
drill the ends of the cracks. 1/8" Dia hole is good.

Thanks guys,
Emery and Les, I did drill stop hole to check the crack. I also chamfered both side of the crack, inside and outside.
Jim, Thank you for the tip on using JB weld. I have plenty around and will do.
I really appreciate your guys help.
Take care and have a great day.

ABS plastic does not do well in direct sunlight. Especially white ABS. Does not have any UV inhibitors in it. When you do get a replacement, and if the only color available is white, be sure to paint it with something that is compatible with ABS and has UV inhibitors in it.

Emery I was looking at an epoxy primer and a 2 part epoxy white.
Thanks for all your help.
