I tried this week to make an appointment to have some routine mx done and was told that they are not taking any "new customers". We are "old customers" I explained to no avail. The young man would not identify himself and told me to call back in about a year and a half. We now have an appointment with Sirum in a couple of weeks.

Call Alex Sirim GMC as they are into repairs, while Coop is Big into
restoration and decided that repairs are not worth their time when they are
backed up.
We are backed up as well on the West coast, but manage to assist people
that need help.

THE Cooperative Motor Works, Inc. (The Coop) owes me $15,000.00 and costs and they have refused to give me my money back.
I am working up a complaint with the BBB and if that fails, plan to sue.

On August 5, 2021, The Coop sent an email stating:

From: Jim Bounds
Sent: Thursday, August 5, 2021 11:05 AM
To: RM
Subject: Re: mcwhorter
Mr. McWhorter,
Everything that was purchased by you and shipped to Coop with your name on it was placed inside your motorhome.
We did purchase a quad bag for your motorhome but since it is still in our possession (just received it recently) we will reallocate it to the next motorhome in the lineup soyou will not be charged for the purchase.
We have not done any work or purchased any materials on your motorhome.
So the $15,000 was recieved and no money spent. Which Jim told you to give him 30 days to process and get you the refund. I am assuming that since you and Coop are agreeing to not work with each other that the 30 day clock begins today 8/5/2021.
Thanks,
Ada Galbavy
Office Manager

They have not given my money back as the date of this post.
PM me for more Information,
Robert

Robert, if this is true, you need to get legal advice yesterday. BBB will do nothing to get your money back. You may even look at a police report for theft by swindle.

It wont be a he said/she said situation, facts will have to be facts. You probably wont see your money, and probably cost you time and. Money. But might save others if true.

It is easy for a shop to do a mechanics lien. Not much for the other way around.

I have the emails to prove it.

They will read this post and really do not want to go to follow that rabbit hole and I am really hoping they will do the right thing.

The Coop has, by breaching the contract with me and failing to give my money back, IN MY OPINION, The Coop has entered into false, misleading, or deceptive acts or practices in the conduct of this trade or commerce; has caused confusion or misunderstanding as to the certification of goods or services; has advertised goods or services to me with intent not to sell them as advertised; and has failed to disclose information concerning goods or services which was known at the time of the transaction AND such failure to disclose such information was intended to induce the consumer into a transaction into which the consumer would not have entered had the information been disclosed. In short, IN MY OPINION The Coop has been acting in bad faith and in false and deceptive practices. IN MY OPINION those acts are prohibited by the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act.

The Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act (FDUPTA) can be found in the Florida Statutes 501.201 – 501.213. Formulated after the Federal Trade Commission Act, FDUTPA prohibits unfair competition, as well as illegal, or dishonest trade practices.
