Can anyone point me to an article on how to adjust the level on the rear? It
is a 1975 Hughes, with quad bags.

Dean,

Go to your X7525 maintenance manual, Pager 4.34 and see Fig 70 & 71. The
paragraph next Fig. 71 has the adjustment procedure. Fig. shows where and
why to take the measurements. You will need the torsion bar tool to adjust
the front ride height, see Chapter 3A-14 page for guidance. You will ;have
to measure the heights, take the coach for a short trip to settle the
suspension and check again, will take 3 or 4 times.

Dean,

I guess John missed that you asked about the rear.
The page for that starts at 4-22 in the X7525 manual.

There is a slip joint where the arm attaches to the ride height control. It can be loosened and budged to get the height correct. This takes a lot of fiddling. If the rubber inserts in the ends of the links are shot, they can be replaced with 3/8 fuel line.

I cheated and made turnbuckle like likes after I had repaired the ridged links.

Part of my winter work will be to install a Micro-Level system and new Viair 485 compressor.

Winter is almost over Matt, only 6 months left !

Don't forget that the rear height valves have both a time delay and hysterisis. this means you make a guestimated adjustment then you need to drive the coach or bounce it to settle the valves.

Both Dave Lenzi and Ken Henderson made turnbuckel adjustable replacement links to make it much easier to adjust. I do not remember whose I bought at the time, but JimK at Applied GMC has one of them on his website for sale.
